Chemical peels
A chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure where a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove its outer layers, promoting the growth of new, healthier skin. Peels are categorized by depth (light, medium, or deep) and are used to improve issues like fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, acne, scarring, and pigmentation problems, resulting in smoother, more vibrant skin.
How It Works
A chemical solution is applied to the skin, causing a controlled and limited injury to a specific depth. This controlled damage prompts the skin to shed its damaged outer layers and begin a process of regeneration and remodelling. The resulting inflammation stimulates collagen production, which further helps to improve the skin’s texture and appearance. A new layer of healthier, more attractive skin replaces the old layer that has peeled away.
Expect results to develop over a series of treatments, which may be scheduled every 2-4 weeks.
