Bio-remodelling

Bio-remodelling or Biostimulator injections are a revolutionary treatment for skin rejuvenation, delivering profound hydration into the skin with prolonged stimulating activity to the dermal cells, that activate collagen production, leading to gradual volume restoration.  Results are variable but can last for up to two years. This is the best treatment for clients who desire to look very natural.

We are using Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) for bio-remodelling. It is a biodegradable polymer used in various medical applications, including surgical sutures. It offers the advantage of being absorbable by the body, biocompatible, and biodegradable.

Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) was initially developed and used in Europe, with its first approval in 1999 for filling facial deficits. It gained broader recognition in 2004 when the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved its use for restoring facial volume in HIV patients experiencing lipoatrophy. While initially used for HIV-related lipoatrophy, PLLA’s ability to stimulate collagen production has led to its widespread use in facial rejuvenation procedures. It’s used to address volume loss, sagging skin, and static wrinkles.

PLLA is not a traditional filler that provides immediate volume. Instead, it works by stimulating the body’s own collagen production (neocollagenesis). This process, triggered by the body’s reaction to the PLLA microparticles, leads to a gradual increase in volume over time.

Dr Marina has an extensive clinical experience with PLLA. She uses clinical protocols for reconstitution of the PLLA powder and precise injection techniques through a cannula.

This procedure has almost no downtime, apart from minor swelling and small temporary marks from cannula insertion. Clients must massage treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days post-treatment.
